Nate Thurmond (born Nathaniel Thurmond on July 25, 1941 in Akron, Ohio) was a seven-time NBA all-star who played 14 seasons in the league, starting in the 1970s. Nate played college ball for Bowling Green, and was recruited by the San Francisco Warriors in 1963; he had been named first-team All-American by The Sporting News that same year. He quickly became an aggressive rebounder who played forward opposite the legendary Wilt Chamberlain.
